SEMINYAK BEACH

"The beach is well maintained with lots of local hawkers adding to the ambience. Hire a beach couch and watch the waves roll in with a Bintang or grab some surfing lessons. The beach hawkers will sell you (try to sell you) lots of stuff you don't need but that's part of the scene here. Sunset anywhere along the beach is great. Only a short stroll to the Seminak Village Square. "

Seminyak Beach consists of three adjacent coastal strips, namely Blue Ocean Beach (Pantai Arjuna), Petitenget Beach (bordered by Legian), and in the north the quiet Batubelig Beach. Seminyak Beach differs many of the neighboring beach resorts - such as Kuta and Legian in the south. It is especially different from the public, who comes to Seminyak. The town was the first tourist destination at the southwest coast for surfers. This was mainly due to the high waves.
Seminyak Beach has a beautiful coast of gold to dark sand and very beautiful sunsets. However, the coast has become very popular by the recent years. Here you will find a fashionable, almost elegant look, with rows of designer boutiques along the main roads and in the side streets; a handful of the best dining restaurants of the island, and world-renowned nightlife and theatres where international guests come to perform.

There are easy access roads to the beach at the end of Jalan Dhyana Pura and between the large public car park at the Petitenget Temple and the La Luciola restaurant.
Flags indicate whether it is safe to swim and everywhere are rescue brigades at the beach.
Seminyak is also home to some of the most chic hotel resorts and villas on the island, and they are surrounded by many luxurious spas and very good restaurants. The construction of luxury hotels on the beach started with the Oberoi Hotel, built during the hippie era in the seventies of the last century.
Because Seminyak now has an extravagant mix of luxury stays, it is not suitable for backpackers and budget travelers.

Kuta is usually proud of its lively beach and budget hostels and Legian for its excellent bars and nightlife, Seminyak is the most pricey place to stay. The advanced surfers can go here because the underflow is quite strong. Close to the beach is a diving school: the Adventure Scuba Diving Bali. In addition to diving lessons, it offers snorkelling trips on every level. Seminyak is also Bali's called "the spa capital" of Bali.
Other activities besides shopping that you can do in Seminyak include bungee jumping, sunbathing and horse riding. The sunsets are famous here and it also offers an opportunity to mix with the "beau monde".

It's really a nice beach, located a 5-10 min walk from Seminyak Square. There are lots of things to do, you can hire a surf board for an hour, or hire a body board or do a surf lesson for an hour and we could keep the board for an extra hour. We also had beautiful sunsets outside the Anantara Hotel which was great. Very reasonably priced drinks for what is an excellent location to watch the sun slip into the sea on some rather comfy beanbags!
