GEGER BEACH

"It's a sunny and clean beach, the water is always clean and is not crowded as kuta or Seminyak, the ocean bottom is rich of life. It's good for sunbathing or rent a catamaran or stand up board and paddle inside this incredible laguna. If you want you can paddle out and catch one of the best waves in Bali...
There are many good restaurants around and the sunset is stunning . I felt in love with Bali thanks to this beach ... "

Ever Nusa Dua was an immense coconut plantation, now it's a paradise of tropical gardens, white beaches, fine restaurants and the gorgeous Galleria Mall. When Nusa Dua was built it was designed to create a luxury resort on Bali for foreign guests. Most hotels therefore have a private beach. Nusa Dua is very quiet and offers beautiful and well-appointed luxury resorts which are equipped with all comforts. The beaches here are beautiful and the sea is quiet.

Nusa means in the Balinese "island" and dua means "two". There are two small islands in this area. The sandy beach of Nusa Dua is tall and white, but at low tide is the coral reef exposed and you can better go walking down the beach than swimming. Halfway between the coastline are the two small 'islets'. On both is a temple.
Pantai Geger (Geger Beach) is the name of the public beach of Nusa Dua. This strtch of the beach does not belong to the hotels and therefore it can be be visited by everyone. It is a beautiful white sandy beach on the western edge of the enclave. It has a lot of character, which lacks the Nusa Dua hotel area with its private beaches. The beach is very suitable for children.

In general, this Geger beach is safe for swimming. It is very quiet and not comparable to the other beaches, such as those at Seminyak. There are some warungs along the beach. There are also restaurants, beach beds for hire and a massage. Everybody works here in a partnership (kind of cooperative). By supporting them, you support the locals.
The first thing to think about this beach is romance! This beach with its romantic atmosphere is very suitable for a honeymoon. The hotels in Nusa Dua offer full packages when booking a honeymoon. The few tourists come to this Geger Beach, usually take the time to swim and sunbathe, because the sun shines almost every day.

For one thing, Geger beach is unique. Seaweed plants come along the beach, which you can see at low water. If you are lucky, you can see the local farmers harvest the plants at low water. This is a special experience.
Geger Beach blows a cool breeze, as it is one of the few beaches on the east side of the island. The reef, slightly further away from the beach, has the warmest water temperatures of Bali
If you're coming from the west side of Nusa Dua you'll ride along the golf course, then you pass the Saint Regis Hotel (on the left). After the Saint Regis Hotel you have to take the first exit left, leading to the parking lot at Pantai Geger. Here you can park.
If you are planning on a peaceful holiday in Bali, this destination is definitely recommended.
