LEGIAN BEACH

"Enjoyed the sunsets while on the lounges at Joseph's bar on two nights. Great drinks, friendly staff but be aware you will be approached by the locals selling stuff. Just need to say a polite tidak tera makasih and you will be left alone.
Enjoy."

Legian Beach is located between two seaside resorts, the tourist Kuta and the fashionable Seminyak. At low water it has a large wide, cozy and clean beach with coloured umbrellas and sunbeds, which can be rented for a small fee. It is at the beach in Legian more quiet than in Kuta. There are not many vendors at the beach, so you have to get your drink sometimes by yourself. The vendors in Legian understand a 'no thank you' very goo and they'll leave you alone. At the beach there are several surf schools, where you can take classes. But there are plenty of other activities at the beach to do for tourists.
You can take a traditional Indonesian massage and youngsters try to sell bracelets to you at the beach. Some sell ice cream, lemonade, fruit, peanuts and all kinds of other baubles. If that's nothing for you then there are more than enough other things to do. You can go parasailing, or take a banana boat trip, or take a temporary tattoo.

Flags indicate whether it is safe to swim and everywhere are rescue brigades. The beach offers a colorful scene of sun loungers and umbrellas where you can eat something and drink a fresh coconut juice or just some chilled water or soda. The beach is very wide and it is very cozy between the trees along the beach, where the little warungs and kadek bars are located.

Legian Beach is famous for its warm water, sandy bottom, quiet waves, affordable massages and its impressive sunset. Legian Beach is a long strip of sand connecting the places of Legian, Kuta, Tuban and Seminyak on the west coast of Bali. These places have grown together. There are no clear boundaries between those places. The white, wide and elongated beach is suitable for swimmers as well as surfers.
Legian Beach is no longer the place of local fishermen with their boats and dedicated surfers. Today it is a lively entertainment strip with many amenities connecting the four places. There are many occasions where you can spend the evening after a delicious dinner.

Almost every evening at about five o'clock they play a game of beach soccer in "Deja Vu" at the Blue Ocean Beach. You are usually welcome to join them. A more relaxed way along the beach is to sit down with a cocktail in hand on a one of the terraces or one of the many beach bars. Then you can look at one of the world's most beautiful sunsets. The sunset starts around 17.30
You can have a beer or a soft drink on the beach or buy a nasi goreng at one of the "Outdoor Warungs". The Warungs close around sunset. The sunsets can be spectacular and the locals are very friendly. In front of the Legian Beach Hotel, is "Rico's" recommended. After sunset, the mosquitoes start stabbing.

Very interesting is also a walk or a boat trip under the guidance of a knowledgeable guide along the mangrove forests of Sanur. Especially in the morning, you see a lot of birds and learn about this special ecosystem, which is a breeding ground for many fish, shrimp, crabs and birds.
