BANJAR HOT SPRINGS

"Inspection on time, Ketut was waiting for us with his fairly new car. The ride took half an hour before we arrived at the hot springs. The air banjar hot springs are baths filled with warm sulfur water that comes directly from the ground. After a healthy dive we emerged as reborn."

          Banjar Hot Spring is located in the town of Banjar. The town is known for its spring baths with warm water, making it a relaxing destination when you stay in the north of Bali. It is close to Lovina (10 km) and Singaraja (24 km). The baths are set in natural surroundings and are surrounded by a beautiful, tropical garden with plants and trees.

After arriving by car you park the car in the parking lot. You see the little shops that sell the usual things, such as bags, hats and shirts. Anyway, after crossing a bridge, you find yourself in a beautiful flowery garden, where the old-looking hot springs are located.

It is very pleasant to take a bath in the warm water here. The water does not always seem clean because there is sulfur in the water. This warm water comes from natural sources, which (as told) has a healing effect due to the sulfur content. At the Air Banjar Hot Springs there are lockers for you to store your things for a fee. There are also changing rooms and a shower where you can rinse yourself after swimming. The hot water springs have been around for hundreds of years. These sources were improved and expanded during the Japanese occupation. The Japanese government then built at least three water reservoirs for bathing. They used the water to cure skin diseases.

There are three pools where you can swim in 38 ° C sulfuric water. The first bath is filled with dragon images that spit water, which then floods into the second lower bath. The first bath is shallow and seems slightly warmer than the others.

Along the walls there is a small edge in the bath, on which you can sit in the water. The third pool is also a great place to enjoy the warm water. Here the water flows down from a height of 3 m, giving you a great back massage. You have to go into the bath with swimwear and you are not allowed to take your bar of soap into the water. If you feel like taking a shower, there is an outdoor shower right next to the hot springs. Here you can shower with 4 people at the same time under a roof of flowers. Rinse your swimwear well after swimming, because the sulfur could give it a further color.
