Devdan Show

"Yes the kids loved the show as it was engaging and had different elements to the show. It was colourful as it was cultural. Kids got up and danced and we captivated the entire show. Adults thought it was pretty good too. Tickets were a bit expensive though. We got discounted tix through our hotel package deal."

Devdan Show, Treasure of the Archipelago is a spectacular stage presentation, which can be admired regularly in the Bali Nusa Dua Theater. It's must-see theatrical show, a fantastic tour along the Indonesian archipelago. The show lasts 90 minutes and is performed four times a week.

It is a special show with a mix of authentic and modern dance acrobatics. Many spectacle with fire and water. It's fun for young and old. It is very expensive for Indonesian standards, but Western concepts is normally priced for the show, you see. It's a beautiful theater, it has ample seating and you have a good view of the stage.

The story takes you on a scenic tour along the Indonesian archipelago, with an emphasis on the cultural diversity of Indonesia. It is a kind of island hopping with performances that go on Bali, Sumatra, Java, Borneo and Papua. There is a nice mix of show elements. The story bright and colorful, with beautiful costumes and an easy to follow, aided by the scenes at the bottom of the stage, giving a brief explanation of each dance.

The show is performed by a troupe of almost 40 professional dancers.
The Devdan Show Bali at the Nusa Dua Theatre begins when two young children who are parts of a tourist group in Bali feel bored with the tour itinerary and set themselves apart from the group to climb toward a cliff that has grabbed their attention. They find a treasure chest containing various unique items that will bring them, and the audience, in a journey to witness the treasure of Indonesia.

Aside from the traditional dances and costumes highlighted above, there are many special effects and acrobatic acts incorporated in the 90 minutes. The venue for this experience is the majestic Bali Nusa Dua Theater, a 700-seat air-conditioned, state of the art theater. This show is suitable for all ages and is open Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at 7.30pm. Once the show is over (at 9pm), you're welcome to take pictures with the performers.

From a Travel Report:

Shopping in Nusa Dua couldn't be easier - just take the free shuttle bus which stops at many of the hotels in the area and stops at Bali Collection shopping center. You can enjoy a meal or wander around the numerous shops and boutiques; all the restaurants and shops are clearly indicated on the map.
Leaving the hotel area, stop by the local supermarket Hardy’s on the ByPass road. This famous Indonesian chain offers a whole range of food, drinks, liquors, local souvenirs and more. It is more expensive than local shops, but has a wider selection of good quality imported products. It is always good to check both and compare for yourself.
